Third film based on Boris Akunin's "Adventures of Erast Petrovich Fandorin" series of novels.
The Russian Empire, end of the XIX century. On a train from St. Petersburg to Moscow general Khrapov was killed and at first no one else but Fandorin is under suspicion because the killer pretended to be him. However, evidence is found leading to a terrorist organization which keeps both capital cities (Moscow and St. Petersburg) in fear. This time Fandorin is not the only one trying to solve the crime, as duke Pozharski, a mysterious man and his Majesty's favoured, joins the investigation...
